Backed by more than 40 years of experience, Thomas B. Willis has excelled as a conduct of operations specialist for Mid-America Conversion Services LLC since 2015. He formerly flourished as an operations manager for the C-400 Interim Remedial Action Project from 2010 to 2014 and as a project engineer for the materials disposition project with Contract Closure Project Management from 2008 to 2010. Additionally, he was a senior test engineer and director for Salt Waste Processing Facility at Duratek Inc./Energy Solutions from 2004 to 2008 and a shift supervisor for the Pilot Meter Project at Duratek, Inc. from 1998 to 2004.
Among his varying roles in the 1990s, Mr. Willis served as a senior health physics technician for Bartlett Nuclear, Inc. and Numanco, LLC, as well as a maintenance and HVAC technician for United Property Associates, Omnibus Staffing Services, Moore’s Management and A-Plus Personnel. He had also been a construction laborer with S.B. Ballard. Mr. Willis obtained a career studies certificate in drafting, inspector/laboratory technology, surveying and civil engineering and was certified as a civil engineering technician. In 1997, he earned an Associate of Science in civil engineering technology, summa cum laude, from Tidewater Community College.
Notably, Mr. Willis served in the U.S. Navy as a first-class petty officer, engineering laboratory technician, chemistry and radiological control instructor and more through 1991. Today, he remains affiliated with the American Legion, the Disabled American Veterans, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Beirut Veterans of America. He was notably decorated with a U.S. Navy Achievement Medal by the U.S. Secretary of the Navy. Mr. Willis was additionally designated as a master training specialist and an enlisted surface warfare specialist, attributing his success to a stick-to-it approach and integrity.
